Tuesday May 1, 2018

Dragados Offshore is pleased to announce the sail-away of the 4 jackets fabricated for ORSTED (formerly DONG ENERGY) from the North Pier of its headquarters in Puerto Real, Cádiz (Spain).

The first Jackets to leave on the 3th of april were the Z01 (RCS) and Z12 (OSS) being transported in barge Giant 6. Some few days later the Z11 and Z13 (both jackets for the OSS) left on the Castoro XI barge.

The 1.2 gigawatt Hornsea Project One Offshore Wind Farm will be located in the United Kingdom, approximately 120 km east off the Humber. Once completed it will be the world’s biggest offshore wind farm.

The project consists of 174 wind turbines (each of 7MW), connected to three offshore collector substations (OSS) and a reactive compensation substation (RCS), the latter one located between the offshore wind farm and shore.

The scope of work awarded to Dragados Offshore is the procurement and fabrication of the jackets and piles of three Offshore Substations and a Reactive Compensation Substation.

The contract is considered a major milestone as it has positioned Dragados Offshore into the offshore wind industry, and continues to consolidate Dragados Offshore’s leading position in the offshore market.
