Dragados Offshore began its activities in early 1972 with the construction of the production platform for Shell's Amposta Field in the Spanish Mediterranean Sea. This Project served as the springboard for the opening of current yard at Puerto Real (Cádiz, Spain) which was built in 1975 on land reclaimed to the sea.
Since then Dragados Offshore has successfully developed a large number of major projects, such as Jackets, process, accommodation and utility decks, semisubmersible hulls and their decks, turrets and FPSO modules, load and mooring buoys, modular refinery plants, industrial equipments, etc…
Among the great number of Projects developed, which nowadays are closed to the hundred it is highlighted the singularity of the Offshore Regasification Terminal Adriatic LNG for Exxon, the Liquefield Natural Gas Plant Snohvit for Statoil, the production Complex AKAL GC and EPC 78 for PEMEX, the hull for the Semisubmersible Platform Snorre B for Saga, the Öresund Bridge that links Sweeden with Denmark and the Utility Module Scott for Amerada Hess.
The Clients of our company have been and are currently most of the large Oil Companies and important Contractors in the Offshore construction sector.
Nowadays Dragados Offshore offers its services to the Oil and Gas industry from the three main business centres: the headquarters's office in Puerto Real and the Yard in Algeciras, in Spain, and the Yard of Tampico in México. Alsowe have a commercial office in Houston, the main Oil and Gas business centre in the world.
The Yard in Puerto Real occupies a surface of more than 50 hectares and counts with 650 lineal metres of quay. It has several worshops devoted to boilermaking, welding, piping, painting, hydromechanics and fire protection. It is one of the most modern fabrication yards in Europe.
The Yard in Algeciras has a surface of 35 hectares and a dry dock of 386 x 194 x 20 metres. Also it has access to a quay of 260 lineal metres adjacent to the ground concession.
Both sites have as main business areas the North Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the West Coast of Africa.
Due to the high volume of business with the mexican oil company PEMEX and with the objective to increase the presence of our company in the Mexican Gulf Area, Dragados Offshore established a subsidiary company in México, DOMSA, in 2001, and open the Yard of Tampico in this country in 2003. The Yard of Tampico has a surface of 35 hectares and a river front of 500 lineal metres. It has several workshops devoted to boilermaking, welding, piping, painting, hydromechanics and fire protection.
